Community Education

An important part of our mission is providing education on hospice and other end-of-life topics. Education helps to dispel myths and fears about end of life and hospice, fostering better understanding and healthy acceptance.

Overview

Hospice of Southern Maine offers education in-person or virtually, one-on-one or in groups. We offer everything from general community presentations to specific clinical trainings on many topics, and can customize training to the specific level or need of the audience. Advance Care Planning: helpful information on Advance Directives and other ways we can prepare for our future.

The Many Faces of Grief: discusses the various types of grief experienced with loss, what to expect and practical tips to manage it.

The Clay Lab: a virtual reality experience where the viewer embodies Clay, a 68 year-old man with terminal cancer as he navigates end-of-life with his loved ones and hospice care.
